Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman holds the Distinguished Chair in Psychology in the University of California Davis and is the director of its Center for Public Policy Research. Her name is widely recognized as the pioneer of modern studies of eyewitnesses' memory, and also children's witnesses. Professor Goodman, who has numerous papers and grants, is also the recipient of a variety of international and national awards. She has advised a variety of authorities and government agencies around the world about policies and research relating to the treatment of children victims in the justice system. She serves as a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center - formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center - of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She has been a member of numerous professional organizations, including that of Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She was president of the the American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division, as well as three Divisions: the Child and Family Practice and Policy Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
